Dear [First name],

It’s so wonderful to write to you at this special time of year to wish you the merriest of first Christmas’ from all of us at the North Pole. Mrs Claus and I have waited with bated breath for your arrival since we heard from [Relative Name]. You are a very loved little [Boy/Girl] and everyone loves meeting you and learning about all your little quirks which has brought many a happy moment to their hearts. It feels like just yesterday that you were born, and yet you’re already [Age Range] old. You can already [Acheivement] which gave Mrs Claus and I a big surprise when we heard about it.

I expect that you’ve not heard of Christmas before, so let me explain. Christmas is a time for love, of joy and celebration throughout the world and of thinking of others before yourself. Gifts are exchanged, family gather around the table to dine and for a few hours each year peaceful smiles rest on the faces of everyone. I, Santa Claus deliver gifts to all on my nice list which I deliver on my magical sleigh. In fact, I’ll be flying over your home in [HomeTown] on Christmas eve to deliver a special item, [Present], just for you. A first Christmas is the most special Christmas of all, so I do hope that you get to spend it with all of your loved ones, like [Friends Name].

Time flies so quickly in the North Pole because it’s so busy here. The elves are always hard at work and the reindeers always need tending to. And despite preparations it’s always Christmas time before I know it. Just now I can hear Mrs Claus calling me to check the naughty and nice lists again, so I best go.
Until Christmas,

[Santa Claus]

Dear [First name],

My wonderful [Boy/Girl], I just had to contact you as soon as I could to tell you of the marvellous news I heard today. I was busy visiting the elf workshop today to make sure that everything was running smoothly for the big day when I was stopped by none other than the Grand elf. He’s the one who is in charge of all the other worker elves to make sure that work is done on time. He told me that he had been checking the naughty and the nice lists all year and he had never, ever, seen a child with such a glowing record as you and that you [Acheivement] this year. I can’t tell you how proud Mrs Claus and I are to hear that. I bet if you showed your [Relative Name] this letter they would be delighted too!

The elves are very special people. Each is the height of a small child, with magical powers that surpass even mine. They use the magic to work faster than any human could, faster than light I’d say. After all, there are a lot of children in the world that wake up to gifts on Christmas morning. They’re kind, and clever, just like you, and wear small woollen hats and mittens to keep their bodies warm from the North Pole chill. Mrs Claus insists on them and sews new ones every Friday night so they never run out of warm clothes.

The Grand elf has suggested that we give you a reward for your good behaviour this year. An impressive thing for someone aged just [Age Range] old. I think it’s only fair that if you remain on my nice list for the rest of the year then we will try and make you your [Present] for Christmas eve.

Farewell until Christmas eve when we will fly over your home in [HomeTown], and give my love to your dear friend [Friends Name].

Dear [First name],

I do hope you’re having lots of winter fun in [HomeTown]. Here at the North Pole we haven’t got much time to relax, but just yesterday the elves, Mrs Claus and I all headed out to the frozen lake by our cottage to skate. Have you ever been skating with your friend [Friends Name]? Oh, you should see Mrs Claus, she used to be a champion skater in her younger days and she can still twirl and pirouette like she is a teenager! I can’t stay up on my feet for more than two minutes, nor can the reindeers, so we snuck off for a mince pie or two…or three.

Do you like mince pies? I do hope you do. They’re one of my favourite Christmas treats, washed down with a good old glass of sherry – although you’re far too young to know about that. You are only [Age Range] old after all. Mrs Claus’ favourite treat is white chocolate.

The elves are currently busy in the workshop making wonderful gifts for all the good boys and girls of the world. They told me you’re on the nice list this year so your gift will be created in there too. If I remember rightly you wanted a [Present], so I’ll see if I can ask the elves to make it for you. Do make sure that you’re a good [Boy/Girl] for the remainder of the year. I can’t bring a gift to a child that is on my naughty list.
Have a very merry Christmas, and well done on [Acheivement]. We’re all very proud of you.

Finally, please make sure you continue to be kind and considerate to [Relative Name] for the rest of the year.

Dear [First name],

It’s Santa here just letting you know how wonderful it is that you’ve made it on to the nice list this year. Your [Relative Name] must be so proud, as is Mrs Claus and I. You’re truly growing into a wonderful [Boy/Girl], and such a good friend to [Friends Name], too.

Let me tell you a little bit about my time here in the North pole. I’ve lived here all my life and moved into a little cottage with Mrs Claus when we married. The villages nearby are filled with our many friends and once a year on the day before Christmas eve the villagers have a Santa fancy dress competition to celebrate yuletide. Do you know that once I even entered myself as a joke and I didn’t even win!

The elves live with us here in a large home attached to our cottage and choose to work all year long to make sure that Christmas is a big success. Although as I write this they are all nestled up in their beds sleeping soundly after a day making toys. If you continue to be good, hopefully they’ll make a [Present] just for you. Be sure to listen out for the reindeers as we visit on our sleigh over [HomeTown].

I do hope you’re looking forward to Christmas as much as I am. It truly is my favourite time of year – a time of love, of hope and celebration. We’ve had lots to celebrate here this year. Every time a child makes the nice list or does something kind or clever our elves are always the first to hear about it. We’re so very proud of your [Acheivement]. A wonderful feat for someone aged just [Age Range] old.

Dear [First name],

Santa here just dropping a quick line to let you know that I was delighted to receive your letter this year. It is always wonderful when young people such as yourself write to me to tell me about their lives. I also hear good things from the elves who monitor my naughty and nice lists all year round. They tell me that you are a responsible [Boy/Girl] who is kind to all that know them, especially your friend [Friends Name].

Here in the North Pole I have plenty of friends. There are hundreds of elves here all working around the clock to make sure that Christmas gifts are built, stockings are made and the reindeers are well fed. And then there is Mrs Claus who makes sure that I am organised and that my tummy doesn’t get too big to fit down the chimney. Last Christmas she asked the elves to make a treadmill just for me which I use when she’s watching TV in the evenings. I used to go for long walks with the reindeers, but my knees aren’t what they were and the weather here has been terrible recently. I do hope you’ve had a little bit of protection from the snow in [HomeTown].

I do hope you’re as excited as I am for Christmas, and you’re looking forward to your gifts being delivered. I understand you would like a [Present]. If you continue to be good this year I will try my very best to get the elves to make it for you in time. Well done on [Acheivement]. A great thing to achieve at just [Age Range] old. Your [Relative Name] must be so proud.

Farewell until Christmas eve, and remember BE GOOD.

Dear [First name],

Things are hectic here in the North Pole, but luckily, I have managed to find a few minutes to write a letter especially for you to congratulate you for being on my nice list again this year. That’s every year so far. You are a truly amazing [Boy/Girl]. As for me, I’ve managed to sneak a couple of Mrs Claus’ home-baked shortbread cookies from the kitchen to enjoy, so forgive any crumbs that may find their way into the envelope.

Mrs Claus has been helping the elves out in the workshop this year so that I can tend to the reindeer who have a bit of a sniffle. Don’t worry though, they will be ready for Christmas Eve when we will deliver your [Present] (as long as you continue to be good) to your home in [HomeTown]. Your [Relative Name] told us that was your favourite, and we can’t wait until the big day so you can open it.

We hope you’re having a Christmas dinner this year. Mrs Claus has already made the stuffing and plum pudding for ours, and although we only have it once a year it happens to be my favourite meal of all. Especially the sprouts! I bet your [Relative Name] are looking forward to their dinner too, although probably not the washing up. We have magic for that.

Oh, before I go I must say congratulations on [Acheivement], and at just [Age Range] old too! Keep up the good work. Mrs Claus and I are very, very proud. Give our love to your dear friend [Friends Name], too.

Merry Christmas,

[Santa Claus]

Dear [First name],

It’s incredible to think that Christmas is upon us again. The elves are busy tinkering away in their workshops to prepare all the toys for all the children of the world, including you and your dear friend [Friends Name]. Don’t worry though, we won’t forget about your [Relative Name] either. A special treat is reserved just for them. Mrs Claus just has to get around to doing the gift-wrapping.

Mrs Claus does love animals, and so as Christmas time approaches she takes extra special care of the reindeers, making sure that they get lots of carrots to keep them well-fed and gives them long walks through the forest around our home to make sure that they’re fit and ready to drop off toys to you all. Don’t worry, the reindeers started their exercise extra early this year so they’ll be whooshing across the twinkling skies of [HomeTown] on Christmas eve and if you continue to be good we will hopefully be delivering your [Present].

Mrs Claus and the elves send their love. We can’t tell you how delighted we were when we heard from the Head Elf that you are on the nice list again this year. Although, to be honest we weren’t surprised as you are growing into a wonderful and kind [Boy/Girl]. As you’ve grown in size you’ve grown in wisdom, and I bet your [Relative Name] were as pleased as us when you [Acheivement] and at just [Age Range] old too!

Sadly, I shall have to say goodbye as the reindeers are getting a little too attached to our Christmas tree decorations for my liking. They ate some of them last year and had a terrible tummy ache for days.

Farewell from the North Pole.

Dear [First name],

Ho, ho ho to you, my friend. I see you’ve had a lovely year and made some great friends. You’ve been a truly wonderful friend to [Friends Name] too. The gift of friendship is one of the most important things in the world, do your best to keep it.

Family is important too, particularly at this time of year. I remember the day I met Mrs Claus like it was yesterday. I wore my best suit and black boots; my hair was blonde instead of white then. Mrs Claus wore a beautiful red dress. It was magical. Spend time with your [Relative Name] at this time of the year and have a truly special holiday season.

Congratulations on [Acheivement] this year. Mrs Claus and I are so very, very proud of you. As a reward for all your hard work this year I will deliver your [Present] to your home on Christmas Eve, but do make sure you are a well-behaved [Boy/Girl] for the rest of the year. You wouldn’t want to find yourself on my naughty list.

The elves and I were just talking, and they were saying how they can’t believe that you are [Age Range] old already. The head elf still remembers personally making your very first Christmas gift and wrapping it in the finest paper he could find. You are truly growing into a wonderful person.

If you listen very carefully on Christmas Eve, you may hear the sounds of hooves on the roof and sleigh bells tinkling as we land at your house in [HomeTown]. Don’t worry; the morning will soon come, and you can open your lovely gifts.

Dear [First name],

My, what a busy few weeks it has been preparing everything for Christmas. The elves have been spending long days in my workshop making toys, Mrs Claus has been helping them with the wrapping, and I have been reading all of the wonderful Christmas letters I’ve received. I’m now writing my replies so the elves can help me deliver them all on Christmas Eve. I honestly don’t know what I would do without all of the help I get from the team here at the North Pole.

I heard from your [Relative Name] that you have been a very good [Boy/Girl] this year. They wanted me to tell you how proud they were that you [Acheivement]. It is clear that you are a very talented [Age Range] old and that you belong on my nice list this year. This means that there is a good chance that you will get [Present] you have been asking for, so please continue to be good throughout the year.

That reminds me, would you be able to tell [Friends Name] that I received their Christmas list and that I will do my best to deliver what I can? I know you are the best of friends. I hope you have some fun plans for the Christmas holidays. It must be such a treat to have a break from school!

I’m looking forward to a well-earned rest myself come December 25th. Mrs Claus cooks a delicious Christmas dinner for us all every year. The reindeer are always so hungry after their long and tiring flight on Christmas Eve! Speaking of food, I would certainly appreciate it if you left out a mince pie when I stop at your house in [HomeTown]. Those snacks help keep me going as we deliver the large number of gifts.

I had better get going; this pile of replies won’t write themselves. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year!

Dear [First name],

I hope this letter finds you well and that you are enjoying the lead up to Christmas as much as I am. Things are a little hectic here with all the preparation needed before our big flight on December 24th. The reindeer are especially excited and I have been feeding them plenty of carrots to make sure they have all the energy they need for the journey we’ll be making around the globe.

They’re resting at the moment so I thought I’d take a minute to sit down and write to you. I’ve been so impressed by the reports of your good behaviour this year. It seems turning [Age Range] old has really helped you grow into a lovely [Boy/Girl]. I’m delighted to say that you have made it on to my nice list. Your [Relative Name] told me that you [Acheivement] – this is fantastic! Who knows, perhaps you’ll get your wish for [Present] this year! You’ll just have to keep hoping and doing your best to be a good [Boy/Girl] before Christmas arrives.

We’ve still got a lot of work to do here and everyone is busy. The elves are packing the presents into my sleigh, Mrs Claus is decorating our house, and I am working through this pile of letters. I think I saw one from your friend [Friends Name] earlier, so could you tell them I’ve received their note and wish them a Merry Christmas?

I had better be off now, though I look forward to making my stop at your house in [HomeTown] on Christmas Eve.

Dear [First name],

[Santa Claus] here just wishing you a very merry Christmas. I do love this time of year, and it’s fantastic that so many other boys and girls enjoy it too. The reindeers are raring to go, and can’t wait to deliver your presents to your home in [HomeTown] this Christmas.

The [Present] you requested is already nestled amongst the other presents on the sleigh, ready to be delivered to you, so please continue to be a good [Boy/Girl] for the rest of the year. The presents that your dear friend [Friends Name] requested are also ready too. You both have behaved fantastically this year, and have achieved many things. I’m especially impressed that you [Acheivement], and at just [Age Range] old too!

I would be very grateful if you could leave me and the reindeers a lovely snack to munch on when we arrive at your house. It’s very tiring delivering millions of presents all over the world and we work up huge appetites. The reindeer’s favourite food are juicy carrots, but I am partial to a mince pie. Would you mind asking your [Relative Name] to put some out for us?

It’s best that I go now, [First name], as I still have lots of work to do before the big day and Mrs Claus is cooking a lovely roast dinner, it smells amazing!

Have a very merry Christmas.

Dear [First name],

It’s party time here in the North Pole as the elves have finally finished the toys for every girl and boy and we can finally let our hair down. Mrs Claus makes the best eggnog, but it doesn’t agree with the elves. They get awful headaches in the morning!

I’m delighted to tell you that you have been such a good [Boy/Girl], you are on my nice list, so your [Present] is already loaded on the sleigh ready to be delivered to your home in [HomeTown] on Christmas Eve, please do continue to be kind and caring to stay on the nice list.

Your dear friend [Friends Name] has also made the nice list. You are both such good children. Do keep up the good behaviour for the rest of the year for your [Relative Name].

I was very pleased to hear from the elves that you have [Acheivement] this year. The elves help me keep an eye on all of the boys and girls of the world to make sure they are being nice. They told me to tell you that they can’t believe you are only [Age Range] old because you are so very well behaved.

I must go now, because alas, my job is yet to be completed. I’m going to sneak into the workshop and make Mrs Claus a special gift for Christmas.

Have a truly special Christmas with your friends and family.

Dear [First name],

I’m delighted to hear that this year you [Acheivement]. Your [Relative Name] must be very proud of you, and pleased that you’ve been a very well behaved [Boy/Girl] this year. All this brilliant behaviour has ensured that you have a place on my nice list. Congratulations to you!

The elves are delighted too. They love making toys and gifts for the good girls and boys of the world, and of course, an extra person on the nice list means extra toys to make. I spoke with Mrs Claus, who is in charge of my gift lists and she told me that this year you have asked for a [Present]. That sounds like a great choice. Keep up the excellent behaviour for the rest of the year and I will drop it at your home in [HomeTown] on Christmas Eve!

Mrs Claus is busy baking mince pies for the elves to keep them hard at work. She never gives me any, though, saying my tummy is round enough already. I’m going to sneak into the kitchen to see if I can find a stray mince pie. I do love mince pies! It would be a kindness if you could leave one out for me on Christmas Eve, I do get very peckish on my deliveries.

The elves tell me you are [Age Range] old already, but surely that can’t be true? I’ve never known a young [Boy/Girl] to be so kind and caring at only [Age Range] old, and such a good friend to [Friends Name] too. They must be very happy to call you their pal. It’s so busy here that I may not get the chance to write to them this year. Please tell them that they are also on the nice list, and that I will deliver their gift very soon.

Take care young [First name]. Have a very, merry Christmas, from everyone here at the North Pole.

Dearest [First name],

We’re frantically trying to get everything ready for your 1st Christmas; there are presents everywhere and merry elves singing merry songs.

I just saw our head elf who tells me that you are now [Age Range] old. I thought that the head elf must have had something wrong with his memory; it seems like just yesterday you were born! I can’t wait to learn more about you over the years and never forget that I am looking out for you will you?

Head elf tells me that your [Relative Name] said you’d been a very good [Boy/Girl] this year and confirmed that you would be receiving your [Present] this Christmas! When I heard the good news I ran to tell all the reindeer that we would definitely be stopping at your home in [HomeTown] this Christmas.

Donner and Blitzen were so excited by the news they flew around the factory and got themselves all tangled up in Christmas lights on the ceiling! The elves had to free them by sitting on each other’s shoulders, forming a tower of elves! Mrs Claus and I were laughing jollily.

I nearly forgot to mention! We received a letter from [Friends Name] too. I am excited to say that they are also on the nice list this year too, just like you.

Tomorrow I have to get up bright and early and help Mrs Claus who is fixing the sleigh, then I have to bake a whole lot of biscuits to feed the elves – it’s been a few days since they’ve had any biscuits and they get a bit silly without them!

Finally, before I put my red pyjamas on and get into bed I want to tell you how proud I am to hear that you [Acheivement], I can’t wait to share the good news with Mrs Claus too.

Goodnight young [First name], we look forward to helping you enjoy your very first Christmas!
